My Story
FROM A CODEPENDENT WITH NO VOICE TO A INSPIRATIONAL MINDSET LEADER
“Do you understand what she is saying? She speaks like she has something in her mouth.”
Those words were spoken by my parents throughout my childhood and later by the adults around me. I grew up with the idea that I was different, that there was something wrong with me, because I couldn’t speak properly. I had difficulty speaking up, I was always withdrawn, shy and ashamed of myself. The way I saw myself and my limiting beliefs landed me in unhealthy relationships and terrible decisions making.
Awakening moment
All this until I had my son and after episodes of depression, living in fear and anxiety, not being happy in my marriage, but not being brave enough to leave, feeling powerless, small, that I could not make it on my own, I had my AHHA moment.
“What if one of these days, during a fight with the partner, something would happen to me? I could end up dead or in jail… Then, who would look after my son?”
That was my awakening moment.
I was pushed to see how my choices were affecting my son, his self-esteem, his health, and his entire life. I started asking myself what I was doing until then that got me there.
I started to dream of a different life. The possibility of a happier life made me search for new ways of doing things, to ask for help, to learn to understand my emotions, and how to change my thoughts so that I can be free of any guilt and resentment, towards myself and the world.
I decided to be happy. I decided that I matter, that I am important and worthy of a beautiful and peaceful life.
Was it easy? No. Was it better than staying in another relationship that was draining me? OHH yes.
Despite all the challenges and the fear of the unknown (what will happen, financially, emotionally, the guilt of breaking the family, and start all over again) I kept going.
On this beautiful journey, I discovered myself, my passions, and my gifts.
On this beautiful journey I found my voice. I learned to be true to myself, to listen and voice my needs and wants, without any guilt and shame. I learned to say NO to others and YES to myself. I learned that it’s up to me to care for myself. In this process, I gained control over my thoughts and my emotions. I don’t expect validation from outside, and other’s emotions and opinions don’t change my mood anymore. In this process, I learned to set boundaries that led me to attract heathy emotional people, with hobbies and similar interests, who are comfortable to express their needs and wants because they have a direction for their lives, just like me.
The process is not an easy one but when you work with your subconscious mind, the part of our mind responsible for all our beliefs, negative trapped emotions, and behavioural patterns, you can AWAKEN to a world of possibilities that are waiting for you.
You can unlearn unnecessary behavioural patterns and release limiting beliefs that are not yours to carry.
